summer and lemonade go together

it has been awhile since i have posted anything. and not for the lack of desire. in fact i have a bunch of stuff i want to share in the coming week if i can get the hang of this again. but i will start off slow and just share some thoughts that others are able to articulate better…

this summer began with harsh news of layoffs for many. our household has effectively been reduce in teacher force by 1/2. but as the summer wore on and we were met with true loss, perspective began to set in. lemons are usually bitter… especially in abundance. this summer has been about trying to figure out the best way to make our own brand of lemonade to refill our cups and drink of life without cringing or binging (even tho i have been treating surfing like the later – everyone needs their vices in times of struggle) as the school year begins my wife and i are poised in a position to remember the harsh lessons of the past year, to prioritize what is important to us as individuals and as a family. there is always going to be chaos in the circus. the goal this year is to try and visit the lemonade stand more often when the spectacle of the big tent gets too much… and to try and remember that every end has a beginning…
